Connect WorkBuddy

For WorkBuddy desktop versions with graphical custom model settings. Entry points follow the official model guide; the interface may change between versions.

1. Open model settings

Jump to 1. Open model settings

Go to Settings > Models and add a custom model. Choose Custom API as the connection method and Custom if the service is not listed.

You can also open configuration from the custom-model group in the chat model selector.

2. Enter connection details

Jump to 2. Enter connection details
Field Value
URL https://api.keenkind.ai/v1
API key Your KeenKind API key
Model name / ID An actual id from the model catalog
Display name, if available KeenKind followed by the model name

Choose a model confirmed to support Chat Completions and tool calling. Set capability flags such as tools and images according to the model’s actual capabilities.

3. Keep standard path settings

Jump to 3. Keep standard path settings

Leave Custom protocol off initially. WorkBuddy’s documentation says it validates and completes the standard /chat/completions path when this setting is off. The resulting request URL is:

https://api.keenkind.ai/v1/chat/completions

If you need Custom protocol enabled, enter that full URL because automatic path completion is skipped. Choose one method to avoid appending the path twice.

4. Save and verify

Jump to 4. Save and verify

Save, then select the new model in the chat selector’s custom-model group. Open a small project and ask it to read the README and explain startup instructions. Check the call in usage records.

Custom-model usage is charged to your KeenKind account. WorkBuddy’s built-in-model credit balance does not determine the available balance for this connection.
