Data and network access

Jump to Data and network access

Model configuration and chat data are stored locally. Model requests go to the service you select. The browser, MCP, and some plugins may also access the network. Check sources and access scope before installing extensions or increasing permissions.

  1. Add a model in Settings > Configuration.
  2. Choose a working directory or start a general chat.
  3. Select a work style, mode, and permission level.
  4. Describe your goal and add files or images if needed.
  5. Review progress and changes as tools run and files are edited.

Start with the desktop quickstart. To connect your own service, read Desktop model setup. Before allowing project changes, review Permissions.
